'91 300 SL

My SL is a sharp looking '91 300 SL. Super white with the original gray interior. 72,000 miles. I recently replaced the rear section of the top which looks as original as the front section. Purchased material from an ad in MBNA magazine for $350. I paid $23,000 for this car, spent $1200 in repairs at John Sisson Motors in Washington Pa...(YUK),
then discovered a really great shop, Bobby Rayhal in Wexford Pa. Gave them another $1800 and it finally runs close to new. Right now I am having a few dings and scratches redone on the rear which will cost another $1500.
This car receives a lot of looks and comments...I could use a roof handler for it, does anyone have one for sale?

Bob--Who did the work on the rear section of your soft top? I live in N.J. at the shore, and I know that my rear windows are going to need replacement. My dealership is Contemporary Motors in Little Silver and is the absolute BEST to deal with, no matter what. However, I am concerned about the fading of the rear plastic windows. Thanks.

Replacement top

The work on my roof was done by Art Meyers here in the Pgh. area. He really knows what he is doing, the labor charge was $450. He did make a comment about the good quality of the roof which as I said, was purchased from an outfit that advertises in the MBCA magazine...I think the name of the firm is SL something...by the way Dale...what a great idea for this SL site, sure glad you finally finished it..Bob

Thanks for the compliment and the info...I am always glad to see the interest in the SL and how we have solved our various problems...Also, with the advent of the NEW SL on the horizon, I am cautiously optimistic as to the effect it will have on our cars. I've seen pictures of the new SL, and am not convinced that I like it......HOWEVER, I will refrain from final judgement till after seeing the car in person. Thanks for visiting the site and hope to see you as a regular.
