Cassette Holders

New to all this..............would've posted last week but only picked up my 2001, 32k miles, silver SL320 last week and have been driving it around and therefore not had time!

Anyway, anyone know if there is a way of removing the multi cassette holder thingy from the centre consule and if so is the hole created suitable finished etc?

Yes and No

Yes, it's removable, sorry I can' remember how.

No, it's an open hole, but Phil here at Fastline has a perfect (OEM) replacement. It's ain't cheap, 24 buck(????).

But loks nice.

Literally just pull it out - open a few of the cassette draws and give it a wiggle. You can buy a storage bin for £12 A129 680 09 91 that slots straight in (the part number may refer to colour coded items - mine is black).

The cars tucked away, but if it's half way nice this weekend I'll pull it out and warm it up. Then I'll get some pixs and figure out how the holder comes out. It DOESN'T just pull out, but it isn't difficult, a couple of clips

It DOES just pull out with a wiggle - I have replaced mine myself and the clips are just sprung . Even the WIS instructions just say pull it carefully!

Cheers Stats

That's exactly what I was looking for. I'm off to the MB dealer tomorrow.

Just to back up Stats007: It does just pull out. I pulled mine out about six months ago. I opened the top and bottom holders, stuck my pudgy little fingers in and wiggled forward and aft. It slid right out.

Casette Replacement

Would it be possible to forward the website address for the replacement items? I would love to rip mine out as I haven't even SEEN a cassette in 15 years.

Cheers.
