W or Z Rating?
Anyone know what the standard fit tyre rating is for a 2001 320? Is it Z or W?

It seems that ZR-rated tyres are being phased out. ZR means rated for over 149mph; W means rated to 186mph (I think). I am not sure there is much difference. 2001 probably came with Z. Look out for M0 compound.

V is the usual rating for the 320 - it tops out at 149mph - and let's be honest - how often are you realistically going to drive at over 120mph in the UK?
V is rated to 149mph, W to 168 (standard fitment on my old '99 SL500) Have a look here (though Micheldever always seem to be cheaper!) www.blackcircles.com |

On my 1996 SL600, we have W rated toyos. But then again, they are not mounted on the stock rims.
