1995 SL320 purchase?
Hi everyone. Well, I've been away for a while since I started working for Audi dealership and bought that "other" brand but today my jaws dropped to the ground when a guy traded in a 1995 SL320 with 74,000 miles black/gray with hard top and two sets of wheels (summer and winter tires) and all service records from day one. It is absolutely gorgeous and I took it home for the weekend and I'm falling in love here and I can't stay out of my garage. The issues are the Check Engine light and he told me that he had it inspected this morning and the dealer told him that the Oxygen sensor needs to be replaced and that the engine mount needs to be replaced. I have a friend who is a mechanic and we can figure it out. Everything else is flawless and my buy price is $13,000. I want it so bad and I would appreciate any input from you experts. What do you think?

Price doesn't sound bad. I love the 104 engine in my TE.

I'd say go for it.....an SL that clean, with that kind of low mileage, with all service records, would be very hard to duplicate.

If it's in good condition--and you obviously know your stuff--the price sounds right. If the hardtop is in place, be sure to remove it and check the soft top for operation and tears.

Look for rust on the bottom inside of the doors behind the rubber gasket seals. That is the only unusual place these cars rust, even in no salt states. Engine mounts on the 6 cyclinder are easy. Check engine light may be more that just the oxy sensor. Also, this model year may have the bio-degradable engine wiring harness, do a search on this forum for more on that issue. Otherwise, it's a fabulous automobile.
