do the european version 600sl v12s make more power than US spec cars?

i just picked up a 1992 600sl european version and was wondering if it made more than the 402hp of the US cars...i remember seeing reports it made 450 somewhere

I'm afraid that's a myth. Only the US R107 series had detuned versions for emissions reasons.

You have the 120.981 engine with LH Jetronic fuel injection?
