USA /EU models
Hi - Thanks for the info
Interesting from the chart that the EU 300SL has lower HP than the USA 450's and yet better acceleration and in the case of the post '80 model, higher top speed. Says something about the emmision standards "over there". my '88 300SL has just had its annual MOT test including emmision test and the guy said it would have passed a modern CAT rated UK test even at 100K+ miles. Shows that the guys in MD now something about motors. Cheers

It's more likely that it has more to do with the weight to HP, The 450SL is 480 pounds heavier than the 300SL.
