500sl Convertible top

ok , I'll try this in the sl forum , I was having problems with my convertible top , today I had the codes read by a pro , I read something about speedometer and an obstruction , he reset the codes and the top went down , but he said to contact him if it doesn't go down again , well as soon as I went home it didn't work , before I take it back to him I would like to try and fix it on my own , I'm already in this car for thousands this year and I'd like to save maybe a LITTLE SOMETHING !!!! lol lol , anyway , the speedometer works on my car , but I noticed that the Odometer doesn't , my miles are not changing , could this be an easy fix ??? or could it be many different things , I'm hoping I can try a few things first and maybe I'll get lucky for once and not pay through the nose !!!! is there anything I can try ?? if anyone knows what I can do please let me know , Thank You very much for reading , a girl looking for an easy fix !!!!!!!!!
