I recently purchased a 1986 560SL, 1 owner, with 175,000 miles. The car is in great shape and has had scheduled maintenance during it's life. The timing chain has been replaced along with other components as needed. The previous owner had a former Mercedes mechanic who did the repair work in a private shop. Since I don't live in the same city as the former owner, should I use the Mercedes dealership at this point or does anyone have a reputable shop in the Wilmington/Southport, NC area they can recommend? Thanks.
