Can I run my 80 450sl without the servo??

Alright, I have another question.

I have a 1980 450sl, and everything started with a broken servo...it was causing my battery to drain, so I decided ot start taking everything apart and fix the car completely.

Right now, I have the servo out of the car, and nothing is in its place. Just 4 hoses and and empty space. My goal is to eventually rebuild it, but I for the time being, I want to move on and work on some other aspects of the car, like the vacuum system, etc.

Here is my question: The battery has been disconnected, and the car has not been started in a few months. However, for some of the things I want to work on, I need to be able to turn it on/run it, etc...Can I do this with the servo missing and the hoses disconntected, or will that cause bad things to happen? If I do need to do something just to prevent harm (i'm not going to be driving the car for a while), what kind of quick fixes can I do to the hoses in order to run the car?

Thanks for your help!

Zack

If your hoses aren't "plugged" ..........I would not start you car. If you think it's your servo......Look at "unwiredtools digital upgrade kit". Even "used" servos are more expensive than this kit. On the quick fix for hoses.... Take "hose inlet" to "electric auxilery pump" and connect it to "return line" bypassing the auxiller pump/servo and heater core. That way you will have water "flowing" thru the engine. Good Luck Dave
