Color Code

I have a 1977 450 SL that I'll like to repaint! However, I haven't been able to find out what's the color code! As you can image, I'll like to keep the car with the original color. Therefore, I looking for a site which list all the colors offered for that year and model. If someone can tell me the color code by looking at a picture of the car, forward me your email address and I'll email a picture.

Do you not have a data plate by the radiator? If not give the VIN to a dealer and they will help you.

Check your data card for the car, the paint code(s) are in box 7 and are listed on the radiator support data plate. Also, this site has some good basic information and color chips:

Your monitor quality may affect the color rendition for the color chips, but you can get the idea.

Try this link. Look under the "Lackierung" link http://www.astralsilber.de/ There are also upholstery colors on the site. This is a great resource. By the way the Dattel interior color is our Palomino. Dattel means date - like the fruit, but they call it Palomino in the US.
