Fuse #8 on euro 107, what is this?
Can't seem to find a fusebox schematic for euro 107's, but #8 in my box always blows when I turn ignition on. What does this control?
Also, the 3 icebox relays below the OVP relay, two seem cool to the touch but one seems to be hotter than the other. Normal? |
I, too, have a Euro. I don't know if it holds true on the Euro or not, but the fuse diagram shows fuse 8 controls the horns and outside heated mirrors on the 380 and 560SLs. Other functions seem to run pretty close on the box on my Euro SL, so I would give some credence to this. Try your horn the next time the fuse blows and see if it works.
As to the ice cube relays. I generally have two hot when the doors are open and the ignition is not on. My guess is the interior lights run through those relays and cause them to heat up. |
On the 280, fuse 8 is for the turn signals and automatic transmission if you have it. Fuse assignment should be posted on the cover of your fuse box.

My diagram shows that 8 feeds the backup light/starter lock-out switch on the automatic transmission.

Chuck,
If you have the diagram for the Euro 500SL I'd sure love to get a copy of it...as well as any other documentation you have for the Euro models. The lack of documentation is the single biggest drawback of owning one of the Euro models. Thanks! |
Sorry
All I have is for the 280-350-450 euro models.
If you are a MBCA member, you can get a diagram from George Murphy (perfanalysis@comcast.net) for a nominal fee. |
Chuck,
I'm not but i may look into becoming a member. Thanks |
I recieved a copy of the wiring diagram for my 75, 280SL from paul.heule@mbusa.com, give it a try.
|
JD,
Will do. Thanks. |
