Hard Top Doesn't Seat Tight
Well, Had to put the hard top on this weekend and it squeaks like its not sitting right. Seals are good. Is there anyway to tighten the locking bolts all around? Does anyone have any good ideas, the noise is driving me crazy and I love to drive the beast.

I have a similar problem every autumn as well. My top fits OK, but I've learned that I need to lubricate all the rubber seal parts to stop the squeeking as the body of the car flexes. That includes the rubber seals on the window frames of the hardtop. My windows seem to make the most noise when taking a bump. I use a product called "black magic". It's not really a lubricant, but a thick and slippery silicone based plastic and rubber "dressing". It goes on thick and gets absorbed into the rubber; wipe off any excess. I suppose you could use any lubricant which doesn't dry out or "eat" rubber. Perhaps somebody actully makes a product for this very purpose.

I really don't remember where I bought the stuff. But it is made for cars, so it must have come an auto supply place like autozone. It's called "The Original Black Magic" tire and trim shine and is in an 8 oz clear plastic bottle. Cost was $2.99. There may be other products better suited to squeeking rubber, like rubber dressing. But I tried this because it stays slippery after it dries and it seems to work. Tod
