Thanks very much
It nice to hear good things after you spend money to replace something that did work before, sorta like new wheels
The only negative of the whole job is the burnt bulb light comes on when you put the high beams on
It is probably because you delete the one wire going to the old high beam lights
Correct me if I am wrong

Thumbs up Euro Lamps = Better

As well you should ! they were designed for the car and not only compliment the looks but they light up the road vastly better than U.S. crap seal beams do ~ our U.S. spec. lamps were forced upon the various European cars and they're almost never as good and always look worse .

Post Warning Indicator

IIRC ;

That is due to the lack if the " City Lamps " (parklights) being connected in the conversions .

I added a bulb for the curb lights last night just to see if yhis would correct problem and I still get the bulb out light on when I put on the high beams only
Does anyone Know how that bulb sensor works
I have every wire used from the old system
I put the inside high beam wire ( from old unit)to a small bulb in the euro lamp
I need to trick the unit into thinking the high beam four lamp system is still there.
Any help would be appreciated
here is one more pic

This is the reason I left the install to my mechanic. The system senses wattage changes, which is the reason you are seeing the burnt bulb light on the inst. cluster.

The way my mechanic installed the lights was to make the amber turn signals of the euro unit function as the lit side reflector light ( parking lamp), and use the small under the bumper ambers as the turn signals. i noticed in the installation some splicing of wires by the headlight. He has done a few of these in the past.

Thats what I did on mine
I think I need to Know what they did with the extra high beam wire?
I may have to switch the high beam wire to the other one if thats the case

Went down and switched wires still no good
I believe you are right with the bulb sensor monitors load of circuit
I guess I will need some resistance in that high beam circuit

Thanks

Any answers on this problem?
The high beam use to have a load from the 2 round headlights
now it has none
Don't need to Unless do you hook both white high beam wires together
On the same lamp to fool the monitor or fool me???
Help

Went over to auto store checked original lamps
looks like low beam35/35watts
high beam 50watts
I guess I have to balance these circuits to these #s to get rid of the lamp indicator
Anybody have an idea on this

I have been swamped with work. I will see about taking one of my headlights out and taking a picture of the wiring set up if it can help you. I will try tomorrow.

Thanks Unesl , but I just got finished
I looked at the cd and check to see if the whites wire were ok to tie together
To fool the system into thinking that there are 2 lights on each side
I checked the voltage with a meter to the two whites no reading
which made it ok to tie them together
Turned the high beams on and no more bulb indicator
It needed to have a draw on the second white leg
Thanks for help
Onto the next project

I guess what ever we have we want the opposite
You can hook the turnsignal to the end reflector but you have to use a dual
filiament socket and bulb

Wink

Yes , it is funny : back when I was importing old VW's from all over Europe , I discoverd the Europeans all wanted the U.S. spec. all red taillight lenses , sealed beam headlights and especially the U.S. bumbers with the bowtie over riders....

It's a funny old world allright .

-Nate
Here in the U.S. the jerk offs in the self-service junkyards smash the taillights and headlight surrounds to facilitate quick removal of the bulbs....
