Beloved 107
The 107, at least my 80, 450, is a wonderful drive......My first impression behind the wheel was that the left windshield pillar was right in my face, but after a while my body fit well into the seat and it's placement.
After driving this car for several hundred miles, I became very comfortable and except for the frequent fuel stops, -10 mpg, the ride was awesome. My 80 sl was midnight blue with navy blue top..l I've entertained the idea of another 107, but I'm no longer wealthy enough to enjoy that ride.....was a wonderful ride and will miss it.................. |

Hi there,
It needs a tuneup real badly... my '79 450SL, which is essentially the same car, gets 18 mpg, after working on the warm-up compensator. The funny thing is that my '82 380SL, which has an '86 560SL engine installed, gets an average of 21.4 mpg. I suppose that's due to the better rear end ratio. Both cars are very fun to drive, but the '82 has much more power.
