Hard tops

Are hard tops from all years and versions of the 107 interchangeable, or are there restrictions for certain models from 72 to 89? Looking at an 83 top for a 78 body...

Short answer is yes, they will fit across years. The question is will it seal properly? You may end up investing serious resources to get it sealed. Test fitting would answer your question. Are you familiar with the rubber that seals the top to the body and windows? Another variable is the defrost function. Does you car, and the top in question, have it? Do you care one way or the other? I think there were two versions of the defrost-able rear glass, with and without visible heater elements. Hope this helps.
