Spark Plugs

I took my already purchased '83 380SL to the shop yesterday for a pre-purchase inspection. Other than the many cosmetic issues that I am fine with it came back somewhat okay. The main issue with the car is that it is running on 7 cylinders... the #8 cylinder is not firing. The mechanic told me to start with a new set of plugs.

I posted recently about MPG and you guys recommended copper non-resistor plugs. I also found this thread (Beru Plug Replacement 4 Defunct Bosch H9DCO - My Story) with a lot of info on Bosch discontinuing their non-resistor plugs.

Can you all let me know what brand and part # plug is working for you? Are you getting these at your local parts place or ordering them from somewhere?

Many thanks.

Thanks M.B.Doc! I see you're in Tucker, I'm next door in Decatur. I'm having a tough time finding the W9DC and read to stay away from Resistor and non-Copper plugs. I just checked with NAPA and the distribution center only has 5... Autozone said they were all recalled...whatever. Any suggestions on a source or an alternative? I found a post in here with someone using NGK BP6 or BP5 ES... ever used those?

I was hoping to change the plugs this weekend but it's not looking good.

BP5ES is not that hard to find, apparently it's used in a lot of motorcycles.

W9DC vs W9DC0

Okay, maybe I am WAAAAY overthinking all of this and wigging out for no reason but, after reading the many posts on plugs and how specific the MB engines are, I just want to make sure I'm doing the right thing.

I called all around town and can't get the W9DC plug anywhere... called the dealer and they said they've got 254 in stock. Drove over at lunch, picked 'em up ($2.99 ea.) and came back to the office. Upon closer inspection they are W9DC0. I remember reading a ton of posts in here about NOT using the plugs with 0 on the end... they cause horrible rough idle issues. After reading all these posts, I noticed that they are all from one guy... I tried emailing him and his email no longer works.

So, my question is, has anyone else had any problems with the Bosch W9DC0?

Yep, we stock these in our motorcycle shop, they list for $2.50 each, most motorcycle shops stock them or can get them in a day or 2
