Timing info for 280slc euro

Brought a 1978 280slc back from Germany. Needs a tuneup bad. Can you tell me where to get the specs on this thing? What models have crossover parts, engine/body. Numbers off the badge:
Fahrgestell-Nr - 107022 17 004799
inline 6 cyl. Also, son hit a dog (big dog) the other day. Broke the left headlight lens. I pulled the headlight assembly out but can't figure out how to get the bulb out.

You basically have a US 280E/CE engine. Most of the body pieces are the same as the 450/380 SL, except for the heater and vent controls.

Ron at germanstar.net can help you with tune-up parts.

I don't have my CD with me to give you the timing specs, but I think it's something like 8 BTDC with vacuum at idle. If you try a Search, you will probably find a couple of posts.

i just gave an answer to someone regarding an 83 280se. the specs i gave were actually for an older 280 both euro and us spec. if you dont find what you need pm me and i will look you up.

i have the haynes manual for the 280e from 77 to 81. both euro and us specs are listed.

Its an automatic. Except for the usual rocker rust its in great shape, only120,000 Kilometers. The interior is in A-1 shape. I haven't done any work to it.
