Replacement Hood emblem & Visor hinge cover- Help !!

Received my new hood emblem from Phil. Wow- fast service! Just wish someone could tell me how to remove old one and put new one on. Emblem has 2 posts on the back. Also picked up visor hinge cover from local MB dealer. Thought it would be an easy replace but can`t figure how to get visor support rod through hinge cover. Afraid to dismantel visor . Did that once on another car and darn thing would never stay in up position. Any advice would be appreciated.
