300SL 1991 infrared remote control

hi, everybody, let see if someone may give me some lights to solve my problem. The infrared remote control is not working. the only thing that make it work is taking the fuse out (the one in the the engine compartment number 8) and i put it back, and the control work but very retarded (i have to wait 10 sec to work), next day it does not work again. I use the key and all doors and trunk close and open fine. thanks.
