Check out my Custom Wheels on my 91 500sl!!

I just bought these wheels/tires from thewheelexchange.com and put them on, they look tight compared to the amg's I had on, and these even have the MB center logo caps to look authentic too.

Nice! I love your SL. Is this the car you're allowing beverages to be consumed in?

when you say "perfectly", do you mean opinionwise or by measurements, because these wheels fit just fine on the car, the old amg's had peeling all over, center caps were aweful, I'm not sure how much I could sell these amgs for if someone were interested

Now with all that disk and caliper showing it's time to paint the calipers!

I am interested in the old AMG wheels.

In that case....

Actually I meant in terms of looks (just my opinion though.. ). . I'd be interested in these wheels if they are for sale..

Red brake calipers would look pretty pimpilicious on that SL!

I agree in looks terms- the old ones are better. I like to be underestimated and NOT flashy- those rims are flashy. If you drive a MB (much less a SL) that's flash enough if you ask me.

I respect your guy's opinions, I am in no way out to rape my car in any way, I grabbed a good deal on this car and figured chrome wheels would really stand out on the car, to go with the chrome emblems.

You can tell when someone just recently got a Mercedes when they put wheels like that on. These cars look classy with AMG because they look like they came with the car. 19 and 20 inch wheels make the car look like "the price dropped enough now I can get one" imo

Hey Chillcat -

Did you check the offsets on the new wheels?

What was the effect on ride and handling?

www.thewheelexchange.com they have all the offsets and which wheels will fit which benz. As for ride/handling, I've seen no difference in the feeling, I do get compliments all the time now for the wheels, I've noticed, price I paid was like $1400 total shipped.

Ya know...do what ya gotta do!

Blinging your ride with chrome rims does not imply "recently procured" or anything else, for that matter.

Aftermarket rims are for folks who want a different flavor...there is nothig wrong with that.

I'm a "chromie" fan myself...learned early to not bring that up on MBShop as the majority of members prefer OEM alloys over anything else.

Although as you now have realized (and some pointed out), you've exposed the calipers! Now you'll have to paint the calipers and throw on some cross-drilled rotors!

Been there!
