HELP..motor choking up.

89, 560
After coming out of storage I was having rich fuel mixture problems. At first, it just seemed like a good injector cleaner might clear things up and for the first 50 miles it did improve but not fully. The exhaust still blew out black smoke when accelerating and it then started to idle rough. I thought perhaps another tin of injector cleaner and another freeway run would finally clean things out. Wrong! A 60 mile round trip almost ended with the need for a tow truck. It purred smoothly when coasting along but rough idled when coming to a stop, the exhaust fumes smelled foul. In last 10 miles the motor gradually got rougher, it felt like it was not getting any air, losing power and choking, I thought I would not make it home. As I approached my garage it stalled and took quite a few cranks to restart before finally spluttered to life but I had to keep my foot on the accelerator and brake pedal to stop it from stalling out as I inched my way into the garage. Phew ! Now I have to plan my next step.
Any comments as to what the problem(s) might be is most urgently requested. Thank you.

You need to start with a fuel system pressure test.

Thanks Roncallo....would you kindly expand a bit on your recommendations, ie; how is that test done and what will it prove before proceeding further ?

Sounding like a broken record, the Moderator asks ...

... have you done a search? There are many posts on this topic.

I have also just discovered that there is no pressure hiss after unscrewing the gas cap...could this be a clue to the problem?

Also, check your air filter and air intake for possible mouse nest or other debris.
