450SL - Push Accelerator pedal & Nothing Happens

I have a 1980 450SL that I drove into the garage last Fall and went to start it up last week when it was warm again.
Wouldn't start,
  • no fuel,
  • hotwired the fuel pump - started fine,
  • jumped #87 to #30 on the fuel pump relay - started fine
  • replaced the fuel pump relay - idled like a baby,
  • put in reverse idled out of garage,
  • put in drive, pushed the accelerator pedal... NOTHING
I checked all the linkage and seems to be fine (all connected) although I never really paid much attention to the linkage before to know how it should operate / move.

Is there a sensor or something that cuts out the pedal?
