Can anyone tell me the best way to store the hardtop on my 82' 380 SL. It will be off all summer and not sure exactly the best way to store it.
If using a stand is what most people use can anyone tell me what brand they use and where they purchased it. Thanks Ed |

Ed,
You can buy a rollable stand from your MB dealer. It comes with the hardtop dust cover. The only bad thing about leaving your top on a regular stand is that you have to ask someone to help you. Or you can buy a hoist, which is ceiling mount. Hoist enables you to take your top on and off by yourself. Do a search on the forum, this topic was discussed quite a few times and you can get information on where to buy those electric hoist as well. 95 R129 98 W163 |

Storage for Hardtop
Ed,
I purchased a very nice hardtop stand from The BenzBin for $155.00. It's an improved version from some of the earlier models. It's sturdy, folds flat when not in use and requires no assembly. It's also well padded to avoid any possible nicks or scratches and includes a full cover. I don't know how that price compares to purchasing directly from your dealer.

Thanks
The local MB dealer wanted $260 for the top plus tax.
The BenBin was still $155 no shipping or tax. Can't beat that. Should be here in a week. Thanks Ed |
