I got this CD changer mounting frame (complete with bracket) from MB:
I know it has to be mounted in the trunk on the drivers' side, but I don't know where it should be installed exactly. My car is a 1990 30SL and doesn't have the pre-fabricated holes for the bracket and doesn't have any signs of how to lock the frame (above the first aid kit). This is a picture of my trunk where I think the frame has to go: Any information would be greatly appreciated and if anyone can show me some pictures of this frame in the trunk of their R129 SL, I would be helped a lot!!! thanks in advance & greetingz,

Here you go...
It's located in the driver's side of the trunk, bolted on to the wheel well. Hope that helps...

Ricky,
Thanks again for the picture. I got a part# for the US CD-changer bracket (from a member of benzsport.com) and am trying to get one in the Netherlands. The US bracket is a lot easier to mount and is more practical (IMO) as the European CD changer bracket. The European bracket has a hinge and is mounted against the same metal sheet as the antenna is mounted on. To get the European CD changer bracket in, I need to weld a locking part above the taillight and I do not want to do that. I wonder why the Euro style bracket is engineered in this (very) stupid way compared to the US bracket... greetingz,

And here are some pictures of the European CD changer bracket. The bracket is mounted to the inner fender panel that holds the antenna as well and can swing open/close to create more clearance to the lower storage compartment with the first-aid kit.
The part that I missed before and that had me thinking was the black metal piece that needed to be welded(!) to the fender (beneath the trunk-lid rubber) and that holds the lock... "closed" and pretty dark...
