So where is the fuel tank on a 107?

Is it under the floor in the trunk like a 115 or above the axle like a 123?

And then, where is the spare?

If I tell why I want to know I am afraid a 107 lover will refuse to answer.

It's in a vertical position, between the trunk bulkhead and the passenger compartment. You unbolt and remove the trunk bulkhead for access.

I'll bite - why do you ask?

Tom, you also want to know how much fertilizer can fit in the trunk? Stressed lately?

I have been thinking of building a very short bed pickup....along the lines of the hot rod pickups from the sixties with a four foot bed.....

an slc with a removable hardtop and a small pickup bed.

complete with a diesel and five speed would be the ultimate I think.

Pipe dreams probably.

Holy crap! That's ambitious. Think you could make it look good, or would it just look silly because it's a butchered Benz.

I saw an MB 600 that was made into and El Camino at a car show. It looked really good.

I think I could make a good looking little truck. But so far I have only gone as far as imagining in my head. Before I spent money I would do some cut and pasting to get a better idea of how it would look.

The last thing I would want is a stupid looking benz pickup.

It's not quite up to the standards of the 560SL someone posted here with 50's caddy fins, a leppard skin interior and a plate that said "JUS LUV". Does anyone have that picture.

I agree with the reactions within that thread.
I would want the vandal of that car to be boiled in oil as well.

Well, good thing there are plenty of 107s around!

I particularly liked the chain license plate surround!

I may be getting some of that leapord skin stuff for the seriously cracked dash on my autocrosser!
