a/c clutch will not release
Have a 97 SL-320 with an A/C that will not stop until It freezes up. I currently cycle it with the switch. I've replaced the pressure? swt. by the left front fender, also cleaned the small blower over the mirrow, it turns OK. The unit cools fine, just can't get it to stop cooling unless i turn it off(clutch never releases). Would like to fix this myself(I'am mechanical, electrical, etc.) if possible but need suggestions of other things i can test/check. Thanks in advance for any help.

Ac Compressor
Check to see if it's getting 12V at the clutch. If it is, you've got a control issue.
Check the clutch airgap. It may be too small. |
