90 mercedez 500 sl help

hey guys need some help
2 things
my 90 500sl
when warm takes a while to start. but when cold it starts fine
but if i drive it all day and leave it off for half hour to an hour
and try starting it. it takes a long time to start??????

also the soft top wasnt opening from the front laches
so i opened it mannually. and now
it goes down all the way but when trying to close
it comes to about half way and stops??????

please advise

You have error codes stored in the soft top controller. Do a forum search for info on how to clear the error codes and find possible causes for the errors.

You also have the usual fuel accumulator starting problem. Again, use the forum search tool to find info.

Both of these issues are very common and have been written up numerous times.

The soft top controller isn't receiving confirmation that the windows are fully lowered. The signals come from a limit switch located in the bottom of each door. Reading codes or checking inputs to the controller (both easy) would positively identify in which door the problem is located.
