450sl steering spline diameter

Hi Folks, need some help and someone to measure their steering wheel spline diameter for me.

I bought an original nardi hub for my 74 450sl. the spline diameter on the steering wheel end should be 21mm. The hub doesnt fit so a previous owner must have changed out the column for a later year but I dont know which. The current diameter on my steering shaft splines are 15mm between the splines and 15.3 on top of the splines. can someone help me out with which model the current column on my car came off so I can buy another hub that will fit. I will post in vintage as well appologies to those who read both

cheers
len

There was a change in shaft sizes in the mid 70's to the larger dia.
I think with the larger dia shaft the steering wheel is held in place with an allen head bolt and the small dia. has a nut.
I have a 80 and it has the larger dia. shaft and I need a hub if you want to sell the one you have. PM me if you do.
