Radiator Leak in 380sl

Hi All,

Have a pesky radiator leak on my 84 380sl. It's always deposited a drop or two when parked, but now it's leaking abou 1/2 a cup or so when it's sitting. got under it and it appears to be leaking at the left seam above where the lower hoses connect.

Haven't had too much experience with these - what's the best course of action? I've used Barr's stop leak before in another car. Or is it best to bring it to a repair shop?

thanks - b

JB Weld?

Just to update my previous post, I'm thinking about trying some JB weld on the lower seem this weekend and see if that stops the leak. Unless someone else has a better DIY suggestion.

plastic or brass?

If brass, just have it re-cored,
Plastic, replace. do not use any stop-leak EVER.
and do all the other stuff while there.

NO STOP LEAK!!!

Take the rad out and get it properly repaired. Or replace it.
$300 for a re core vs. how much for an overheated engine?

Hi guys,

thanks for the response, NO STOP LEAK, I promise

it's the original brass/copper radiator - I'll probably give my friend JB a shot at it this weekend until I have time to get it replaced/re-cored by my shop.
