Soft Top wearing through in spots

Our soft top has worn through in places. Two small holes on each side.

I think these are caused by vibration when the top is folded.

I seem to recall some sort of pads being recommended to stop this, but forget where I saw this.

Any suggestions? I don't want same to happen if I get top repaired or replaced.

Graham

Uh,,, year,,, model ? Seriously, my top has two spots worn through. Personally I don't care as the soft top is only for emergencies, and is hardly ever used. Even if it is the two spots will never matter.

I care that my old car looks good and runs well. Even after 18 years of ownership! Besides, the holes leak when it rains!

This is a standing problem with the soft tops. I use a long(width of the top) piece of soft cloth and put it across at the top of the window as i lower the top. This is an old 97, looks almost good as new still. Extra few seconds of work, but well worth it.

Good luck, Ron
