chainging oil on '83 500SL AMG
The car is a '83 500sl with the AMG body package. I have always changed my own oil in other cars, Volvo 240 , volvo 240 TI and my 633 and just simply crawled underneith the car. I have never done it on the benz because of how low to the ground it is with the amg stuff. What have other Sl owners done? Thanks for any information Nick.

Hey, Nick. I got my 500SL AMG in April, and it had the oil changed right before I got it. Therefore, I haven't done the change yet, but I figured I'd simply jack the front (if the jack fits?) and do it the normal way. Tarbe's pump (see above) is a good idea - I might try that even if the jack does fit underneath.
Did you ever get any better pics of your car? I've always wanted to see more. Not too many of us out there with SL AMGs, much less with the same year model. What do you know about the history of your car? I'm always eager to learn more about these beasts.
