Moving back to London
I am leaving the USA later this year and would like to take my 560 SL home with me to London. This means I need to make my SL UK legal....
I understand (thank you UK MB club forum) I have to get the rear fog light working, change the headlamps to Euro RHD spec (with 'side' lights) and convert the front US side marker lamps to euro indecators, I think I will also have to add side marker indecator laps too. Has anyone done this before? I'm sure it's not simple, so any advice welcome |

All should be simple to do with UK parts. The lights need to point away from the center of the road, as your car is LHD it would face oncoming traffic. Euro Car Parts in Wembley should have the parts that you need.
I'm pretty sure that the car is already wired for rear fogs, you will probably need to install them and the switch from a UK spec car. Getting it through the MOT is another story. The side markers in the front wings will mean that the wings have to be either replaced or drilled and the marker lights added. Again, I can't imaging it being too hard. There are lot's of SL's in the UK, are you sure you don't want to buy one when you get there?
