500SL Wind Screen Repair?

Hi Guy's. Phil Here. I just found a 500SL Wind Screen for my Sweet SL.
The Screen is ripped on two sections, The Frame is perfect.

My question is? 1 Can I replace just the screening.
2 What kind of material is it.
3 Does it have a [Spline] like a Screen Room has.
4 Where can I get the material.
5 Can I use any other Material
6 Is there a Post on this site for this repair?

Thanks in advance, As you know, New Screens are above 450.00 and used ones are going for over 200.00 when you ca find them.

I'd be interested in the answer to this, too, Phil. The windscreen for my 380sl has 2 small tears in it, and I'd like to stop them from getting larger. So, I was thinking about cutting two pieces out of a sturdy nylon stocking, and having a seamstress so them in for me. I doubt if that would work to well for large tears, though.

The Company Oris in Germany is the manufacture for the original Windscreen.
