SL hardtop with a sunroof?

My buddy swears there's an SL, like mine ('86 560), in a nearby city, with the hardtop on and a sunroof in it. Was this ever an option, or is/was there a kit to put one in? I've never heard of one....

The SLC had an optional sun roof. To a non MB person they look like the same car.

SLC suggestion is a good one.

Never one for the SL, however..

For the previous version, the W113 (230SL/250SL/280SL), one could get a manual steel sunroof for the hardtop.

I've got a spare hardtop for my 107, and I'm planning on using one of those fabric folding sunroofs as an experiment.

Maybe it was a J.C. Whitney, $19.95 RTV in moon roof.

I agree, it must have been an SLC.

I have seen pics of a manual sunroof in a SL hardtop so they do exist. Definitly an aftermarket option though.

Maybe he bought one of those magnetic fake sunroofs.

There are a few W113s with sun roofs in their hardtops. This was not considered a standard option though. Here is an article with a photo of one:

There's a shop in PHX,AZ that will make up a folding fabric sunroof to your specs (length X width) and color.

Reminds me of the Webasto I had on an old ponton.
