the soft top on my 107 has torn in 2 places

can it be repaired or do I need to replace it?

where are the tears located and how big are they. . .they'll probally look like crap if they are large. . .a replacement is kinda expensive (spend the money, it'll be good for a long time) but will pay off in the long time. . .do it yourself and learn a little about your car. . .

I install tops in New Jersey. The 107 tops usually tear between the outer windows and above driver and passenger head. This occurs because the material is dry rotted.

Peter,That is exactly where mine is torn. can it be repaired? I'm selling this car and do not want to spend on it.

To repair it means what? Sewing a patch? You would have to remove the top to do any real repair. At that point...you might as well replace it.

Replace top is only solution as it will keep tearing and in a heavy rain, water will penatrate.
