Where to check oil in top resevoir on 129

Have a 97 SL-320, have never checked the oil level for the cylinders that move the top. Where is the master located and how do you check(top up or down when checking) Top works fine(really cracks like gunfire when the front releases). Thanks for any input.

Ron

It's in the trunk, under the spare tire and under a plastic cover. Use only Hydraulic top fluid from MB purchased at the dealer if you need to top it off. Mixing with ordinary fluid is not recommended.

Very good question....My owners manual doesn't say. It's a closed loop system, so perhaps it doesn't matter.
