SLC for $1900 on CL (Norfolk)

Yes JimFreeh, that is the one...it's been dropping in price gradually. Apparently it has issues with the rear power windows, the AC and the sunroof. Think I'll keep driving my $500 300E for a while longer...its got plenty of issues but still a blast to drive!

The later M119's have little 16 little tubes that supply oil to the hydraulic lifters. They are made of plastic, and one end is heat sealed or glued. This end blows out and the lifter loses its pressure feed and starts to tick. Oil pressure drops as well.

See post #3 in my S500 blog for details.

Oil bridge?

So how do you get to those tubes...are they external or does the engine have to be dismantled?

By the way, a white 560SEC just appeared on the Norfolk VA Craig's List, 184k, $2800.

Here's the link:

I like the white. $2800 obo sounds almost too good. I wonder what's wrong with it. I'd check it out ASAP before someone else scoops it up.

That may be worth looking into, 1989 had some nice upgrades both in the engine and the interior.

if you are good at body work, take a look at this sl600 for sale. Half the mileage, clear title, top works, runs great.

and half the price!!

How could they?

That would be a very cool drive back across the country...SF to Norfolk in an SL600! If it were just the bolt on body panels that needed to be replaced, I'd be tempted but the rear quarters are going to need the skills of an expert bodyman...and that's not me.

Besides its a V12!!! That would scare me to death...I try to do all my own servicing and repairs and this would be way out of my league. A 6-cyl is all i need.
