If you have the data card, or the VIN you can get a total read out from the Classic Center of its precise original equipment right down to the number of gallons of gas included at delivery.

Agreed. My 73 450SL has the original pinstriped Becker Europa II stereo.

The black faced radios did not get installed until the mid to late seventies, the electronic ones were after that, probably 81 or 82 at the earliest.

I posted the two radio pics which I removed from my '72 and '73. the wiring on the '73 was spliced but the '72 was original. Where is the Classic Center that Jim Fresh mentioned. I would like to verify or not.

PS didn't want anything but postage on the radios. Wasn't trying to sell them.

The left hand radio is the Grand Prix electronic radio that was current up to 1985.

The right hand radio was installed in early W123s and was phased out when the GP electronic radio was current.

This occurred around around 80-81, I think.

I've also seen some pin striped Beckers in 80 or earlier W123s.

I've never seen an original Becker in a 76 or earlier car that looked like the two you have pictured, they were all the "pinstripe" style.

Regards,

Jim
