Newbie Looking for Battery Case Cover 88 560SL

Been reading the forum for a month - what a fantastic resource! Bought a 1988 560SL from a lady near Philadelphia two weeks ago, 46K miles, everything original including paint - perfect. MB shop checked it before my purchase.

You guys saved me a lot of work when the turn signals stopped working - turned out to be the hazard switch - rocked it a few times - signals then worked - ordered a new one on eBay and installed. Thanks.

Only thing that I am now missing is the cover for the battery case in the trunk. All of the hardware is there except for the cover. New battery and probably the knucklehead that installed the battery forgot to replace. Have tried google searches, forum searches, ebay searches, but not having much luck.

Does anyone have a suggestion where I might find this part? Any suggestions for a good mechanic in Morristown, New Jersey area?

Try the sponser of this site, click on the Buy Parts tab above. They sell new and some used. Otherwise, the Mercedes dealer should be able to get it.

Wink

I've got one, it has a few cracks around the rim that could be super glued. Not perfect but functional. You can have it. I'm in Bridgewater a few miles south of you. If you want it, post or PM me. (It's in the garage, somewhere)
