1987 560sl air conditioner blowing Hot air

My 87 560sl air conditioner will randomly blow HOT air instead of Cold air...Have recently replaced the compressor & refilled the compressor with proper coolant. It will blow cold air for a while & then suddenly start blowing HOT air..Does anyone know what could be causing this problem? Thanks!

Turn the temp wheel all the way to the min setting so that it clicks into place. If the AC stays cold and doesn't cut off the way it is now, the likely component failure is the monovalve.

1987 560sl a/c blosing hot air

THANKS, but it the a/c is Only blowing HOT air right now...I cannot get the Cold a/c air to blow now ...it was blowing cold when I first took the car out on the road & after I turned off the car to do an errand...when I came back & restarted the car, the a/c will only blow HOT air now. Does this still sound like the mono-valve? I really appreciate your help.

If you're now unable to get cold air at all, but you did (apparently) a couple hours ago from your first post, yes, the monovalve could still be bad. That said, you shouild probably have the AC pressure checked at an ac shop to ensure that you have correct amount of refrigerant in the system and that there are no leaks. Confirm that the clutch engages when you turn the AC on.
