injector leakage
renewing o-rings failed to stop the leakage of fuel. Might the injector bodies be a source of the leakage?

O-rings seal only air / vacuum,
Yes injectors can dribble or not shut off completely, there are telltale symptoms for dribblers. |

injector leakage
'96 SL500, m119.
It is now obvious that most of my leakage problems come from leakage from the wee holes in the middle of the plastic upper portion of the injector. Two holes down to metal, with the plug between them. Definite air bubbles coming from these sites when the fuel rail refills after disassembly. Is this to be expected from age? from vibration (I've been driving rough Wyoming roads)? Leakage seems to diminish to zero when the engine warms up. The o-rings at the top of the injector, where it seats in the fuel distributor, seal against the fuel in the rail. Appreciate any thoughts or experience with these guys.... Cheers, half |
