Electrical gremilins

Two electrical questions please on a 91 300SL...

One: The driver's side window does not go up using the rocker switch. It goes down and it goes both up and down when using to top down and up switch. Really looks dumb putting the top down and up again just to get the window to go up!

Two: this one is really funky! When I turn the lights on the headlamp washer goes on. Last night, when it got dark, my wife and I got wet trom the headlamp spray! If this is an expensive fix, is there an easy way to disconnect the lamp cleaners?

Thanks, Jim

#1 I think you simply have a bad rocker switch for the driver side window. Replace it for just a few dollars. Check by swapping it with the right side switch.

#2 The headlight washer is wired to come on when the combination of both the headlight circuit and the windshield wiper circuit are activated. You most likely have a bad relay in the wiper / washer circuit. You can disable the headlamp washer by disconnecting the plug to the washer pump motor under the fluid resovior.
