Where is the fuel pump fuse on a 1980 450SL?

I can't find the fuse for the fuel pump on a 450SL that I am working on. I accidentally shorted the wires and now no 12 volt to the pump. Is it on the relay? Is the relay up under by the fuse panel? Thanks

I think just on the fuse panel itself (passenger side footwell, on the outboard side). I will look at a diagram.

I knew it was from the fuel pump relay, but thought it would be fused, but it's not. Gets power from a power bus, C105, which it says is 4 terminals and located "front of lefthand front wheel well".
Fuel pump relay behind glovebox, will be the one that says "8 zyl" and the rpm is on there, which is the cut-out rpm.

Thanks Gilly. Do you tink that I damaged the fuel pump relay by accidentally, momentarily shorted the fuel pump leads? I have no power to the pump. Chris

Fuel pump relay not behind glovebox, it's above the fusebox next to the red OVP relay.

There was a change in the fuel pump relay location, the info I have shows the 80 as being behind the glovebox.
Yeah, probably wrecked it. Find it, pull it, and jump circuit 30 to 87 and see if it runs. Don't leave it jumped though.

Reviving an old thread..........

First, the disclaimer: I've a mind for the mechanical, not so much for the electrical. That being said, I have a 1980 450SL and it suddenly stopped priming the fuel pump with the ignition on. Using a multimeter (I believe correctly), I see no voltage at the pump with the ignition on. Most people replace the fuel pump relay, from what I've read. I accessed the passenger kick panel and found the situation as seen in the picture.

- Is this black 6-prong relay the fuel pump relay, or would it be one of the smaller silver relays behind the bracket?

I guess people don't really test relays, they just jumper connections in place of the relay to ensure there are not other problems.

- So, for the non-electrically minded, how does one "jumper connections" without giving one's self a jolt?
- What kind of wire is used?
- Some people say to use a fuse in the wire, how is that done?

Thanks for your help.

That looks like it. The part number 0015450605 should be on it. May also show 0015451505.

I don't know how it's printed on there, but when held properly in the light I do see the star logo and the first number you list. Thanks!
