A/C compressor won't shut off
My 1995 E300D's A/C compressor won't shut off. Is this a problem with the compressor clutch or a switch. Will a defective heater control valve cause this? Perplexed...

a/c compressor
I had the same problem wih my 97 SL 320. My problem was the sensor/thermistor in the evap. housing. You can order this from this forum/parts site, Phil I think. On the SL, it was located on the driver side under the consol. Remove the knee bolster, then the metal plate behind the bolster.You will see a cable going to the corner of the evap housing .
My symptom was the same as yours, it would keep cooling until it froze up. For a long time I would just keep turning the A/C on and off. Ron
