97 SL W/oil in plug holes 3 & 4 ???
I changed the plugs today and found fresh oil around the outside of several plugs. Does this indicate a bad head gasket or what. The other holes were dry. How/where do you think it came from, or how did it get in on top of the plugs. Thanks for any thoughs...

104? The valve cover has a gasket around the outer perimeter, plus o-ring like gaskets at the spark plug holes. Maybe it is time to change the valve cover gasket set.
