450SL Soft Top
 

I have recently purchased a 1976 450SL. When I put the soft top up, about 1" to 2" of the back rod that goes into the body shows and the top doesn't fit snugly onto the body. Do I need a new seal or should the rod go down further into the body? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Have you rotated the bigger crank handle (on the sidewall behind the driver) clockwise all the way? This should snug down the rear of the top.

Thanks! I'll try that. I thought that the larger crank only opened the top cover.

if that does not help there are adjustements that can be made at the latch mechanism and hold down rod.
