R129 doorlock removal?
I'm sure this has been covered before, but my forum search skills are failing. I have a 1990 R129 with something wrong with the driver side door lock. The key only goes half way in, so I figure a tumbler is out of place. I've taken the inside door panel off, but I'm still unable to figure out how to get the lock out of the door. I'm hoping to either fix it or swap it with the passenger side.
Normally when something is hard on a mercedes, I simply don't know how to take it apart properly. I'm hoping this is the case here and I'm missing something obvious. |

R129 door lock problem
Hi there,
I have the same problem you described in the forum and I'm wondering if you have solved it and how. Thanks you, Carlos Quote:

The problem with my lock was that some of the pins wore out and got jammed inside the lock. Being cheap, my solution was to swap the door locks on the doors. I was unable to fix the lock, so the passenger side is now broken. In swapping the locks, I also had to remove the the remote key sensing unit. Follow the directions in the video above and removing the lock is fairly simple. Once the lock is out of the car it is a lot easier to work on. I ended up taking them apart on my kitchen table.
