Not an SL, but I have a 450SLC 5.0 and a 500SLC. MB made a combined total of about 2800 107026 model cars. No idea how many are left but there seems to be quite a few survivors. I know a guy that had a 420SL in the UK. This should be really rare as they hardly made any 420SL's and even fewer are RHD. It is certainly the rarest 107.

As Alabbasi, I have the 450SLC 5.0, but in RHD, one of 274 RHD made which is quite rare but according to production figures the 500slc is even rarer than the 420SL.

280SL - 107.042 - 25436
300SL - 107.041 - 13742

450SL - 107.044 - 66298
500SL - 107.046 - 11812
560SL - 107.048 - 49347

3.5 4 speed from the factory

Mine is pretty rare: 1971, delivered new in the Netherlands 350SL 4 speed manual with the actual euro 3.5 engine. Not a 350SL-badged 4.5 as sold introduced in the US the following year or so.

A few recent articles about these have estimated there are very few so configured- like in the hundreds- but I haven't done a further research to confirm.

There is not a single power option on the car, and no a/c. An engine, transmission, heater, and 2 seats! It did come with the alloys wheels, though.

You should drive your 350SL up here to our next GTG, jas. Charlottesville isn't that far from Northern VA.

I have a 74 350SLC with 4 speed manual. It's a parts car. The manual transmission is there but the engine has long gone. Only power option was an electric sunroof.

I'm hoping to carve it up before Christmas.

Well... It's relative 5 of them don't run and need some serious work to get them there.

For a variety of reasons, I've rarely driven mine in '08.
Hopefully in '09 I can drive my, semi, run of the mill, SL.

75, 280SL w/d-jet, 5spd and 861/261 color combo. As near as we can figure there were 12 made. Throw in option 260 (no trunk designation) and it gets rarer. Doesn't make it worth anymore, but I guess there are some bragging rights.

I know I just go out this time of year, pull off the cover and just look at the ol gal. Most folks think I'm crazy but its my "medicine" and I need a frequent dose, even if I cannot drive it right now

Sun shine floor? Is that as in "open air, sun shine floor?"
