Yep, not only do you get extra ventilation, but you have the added feature of being able to use your own feet to brake in case of a brake system failure. Those Germans think of everything.

You're referring to the Fred Flintstone option . . . . Do you also have the extra wide, low profile granite tires like Fred did?

Yep, this one is pretty ghastly. The rear floor on the drivers side has a huge hole in it. The whole of the passenger side including the box section under the seat is rotten. There is going to be some major cutting and welding to get this car right. Surprisingly. After changing the fuel pump. It runs quite well. I had a small engine fire that was caused by a leaking hose on the fuel rail but I caught it in time.

The rocker panels and outer sheet metal is in great condition, as is the seats and the dashboard.

Wondering if my 300TD powertrain equipped '81 380SL would qualify as 'Rare SL"?
I mean...like...I can't fathom anyone else opting for such a scandalous conversion!
In truth, I tip my hat to owners of the truly rare unmodified cars such as that '56.

One of my earliest memories is of watching the road going by through the floorboards while on my mom's lap, my dad driving, in the family Rambler.

My dad was not enthused about me telling that story, for some reason.

When selling my 68 Camaro, I discovered that the rear carpeting was serving as a "hammock" for the feet of back seat passengers, because, basically, there WAS no floorboard...
