72 350 sl no start help
turn key no dash warinng lights no starter engagement battery is new head lights and dashlight work car was running fine...need help any ideas?

If its an auto it could be the transmission selector lockout, a switch prevents the car being started in anything other than park. Try moving the lever around and see if it makes any difference.

Time to check out your ignition switch. You should at LEAST have the charge indicator (battery) light on in the run position. Check your fuses for corrosion, too.
I feel your pain....I'm restoring the same year and model, and it being a Euro model doesn't help much.

where you working on it , if so, go back to the last things done, retrace steps, if not the shifter , gotta be ground issue, or starter connection

no start or turn over
Sounds like a neutral safety switch symptom, but if you get no dash lights I would suspect the starter switch since it seems no power is going through it to energize the dash lamps.
